5-Minute Iced Coffee: The gods favorite way
Share
Let’s be honest, mornings are a lot. Whether you're rushing to a 9-AM meeting or just trying to get your brain to function before the world starts demanding things, you need coffee. And when the weather starts heating up, you need it cold.
The problem with most iced coffee recipes? They take too long. Cold brew is great, but it requires a 12-hour commitment. Instant coffee is fast, but it usually tastes like burnt paper.
That’s why we developed the gods favorite way to make iced coffee. It’s fast (literally five minutes), it’s fresh, and it uses our gods favorite coffee medium roast to give you that smooth, chocolatey finish without the bitterness.
Why Medium Roast?
When you’re making iced coffee, you want a bean that has enough body to stand up to melting ice but isn’t so dark that it feels heavy. Our medium roast is the sweet spot. It has those mellow, nutty notes that play really well with milk (or oat milk, we don’t judge) and stays refreshing even when chilled.
What You’ll Need
- 2 tablespoons of gods favorite coffee (medium roast): Freshly ground is best, but pre-ground works too.
- 6 oz hot water: Not boiling, just off the boil.
- A tall glass full of ice: More ice than you think you need.
- Your choice of milk or sweetener: Simple syrup is your best friend here because it dissolves instantly.
The 5-Minute Method
1. Brew a Concentrate
The secret to iced coffee that doesn’t taste like brown water is the concentrate. You want to brew your gods favorite coffee at double strength. If you’re using a pour-over or a standard coffee maker, use half the amount of water you normally would for two tablespoons of grounds.
2. The Flash Chill
Grab your glass filled to the brim with ice. Pour that hot, concentrated coffee directly over the ice. Yes, it will melt some of the ice: that’s the point. This "flash-chilling" method locks in the aromatics of the medium roast that cold brew sometimes loses.
3. Top It Off
Once the coffee is chilled, add a splash of cold water or your favorite milk. If you like it sweet, add a teaspoon of simple syrup or honey. Give it a quick stir.

Pro-Tip: Coffee Ice Cubes
If you really want to level up, freeze some leftover gods favorite coffee into ice cubes. Use those instead of regular water ice. As they melt, your drink actually gets stronger. It’s a move the coffee gods would definitely approve of.
Why This Works
The reason we recommend our medium roast for this is the balance. Dark roasts can sometimes turn "ashy" when iced, and light roasts can feel a bit too acidic for a quick morning cup. Our medium roast hits that perfect middle ground: it’s clean, it’s crisp, and it’s ready in less time than it takes to scroll through your notifications.
